Summer Smoothie Bowl: 5 Easy steps to make your own

We seriously LOVE fast, easy breakfast recipes and one of our all-time favourite at the moment (especially with this hot weather!) is smoothie bowls!

Yep, that’s right, a smoothie, plus a bowl= a smoothie bowl!

You’ll be amazed at how fun it can actually be when you eat instead of drink your smoothie (no, we haven’t gone crazy!)

So, in order to make your own, it’s super simple.

  1. Freeze a selection of your favourite fruits overnight. We love using frozen mango, banana, frozen strawberries and blueberries. You could also use apple, orange or peaches.
  2. Add your frozen fruit to a high powered blender. For this recipe, use 1 frozen banana about 1 whole frozen mango and a handful of mixed frozen berries.
  3. Now, add about a ¼ cup of liquid. We love to use Almond Milk for a non-dairy alternative. You could also use water, oat milk, rice milk, cashew milk or normal full cream/ skim milk.  For additional protein, you can add a scoop of vanilla protein as well.
  4. Blend, blend, blend until full combined and nice and creamy in the blender!
  5. Serve in a bowl. Top with whatever you like. We love granola, fresh fruit and slivered almonds, chia seeds & even cacao nibs!
