Classes consist of:

  1. Warm-Up Activity: Incorporating various gross motor skills.
  2. Circuit Activities: Incorporate climbing, balancing, swinging, rolling and jumping, incorporating skill development based on each apparatus specific for boys skills and girls skills.
  3. Group Activities: Music can also be used to encourage movement and rhythm in addition to improving flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance and muscular strength.
  4. Introduce more challenging and specific gymnastics skills and drills, including the opportunity to learn; Bars, Beam, Floor and Vault, Trampoline Sports and Acrobatic Gymnastics.

 

Gym Fun (5-8 years)

In each class, participants are encouraged to develop a basic understanding of gymnastics skills and various movement patterns. Whist the focus is on FUN, the emphasis is on safety and the ability to perform skills in the best possible manner.

 

Gym Skills (7-10 years)

Focuses on further development of gymnastics skills in preparation to participate in the Levels program Participants will have set targets and coaches will train them using ‘best practice’ to perfect their gymnastics skills.

 

Senior Gym Skills (9-12 years)

Focuses on enhancing skill development and technique to prepare the athlete for a competitive program. Participants will have set targets and coaches will train them using ‘best practice’ to perfect their gymnastics skills.

 

TrampSkills

This is our entry level trampoline recreation program for students in Kindergarten to year 6. In each class, students will be encouraged to develop basic trampoline skills. These include listening to instructions, bouncing technique and control, coordination and working with others. Once mastered, students will be able to progress to more complex aerial manoeuvres and routines.

Intermediate TrampSkills

This is an invitation only class for students that have attended the entry level TrampSkills class and have learnt the basics. This class focuses on enhancing skill development and technique to prepare students for a competitive program. Students will have set targets and coaches will train them using 'best practice' to perfect their trampoline skills. 

Advanced TrampSkills 

This class is run like an entry level competitive class and students will be invited to attend and represent the club in smaller inter-club competitions. The class has a higher focus on skill technique, routine construction, flexibility, strength and conditioning. Participating in competitions is not a requirement of this class, however it is strongly encouraged. Once competing, students are encouraged to participate in more than one day of classes throughout the week.
